The realisation of a C&S hymn which states “Which church will end world” is starring us in the face today. This was more so as the gospel of the church is far moving and gaining grounds in the far north of Nigeria. This is in spite of the hoopla that the ethno-religious clashes in that part of the country portends.

Only last July, the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Abuja and Nasarawa State chapters of the Cherubim & Seraphim Unification Church of Nigeria were inaugurated amid pomp.

Of course, there had been underground works being done over the years by notable personalities in the nation’s capital to have a chapter of the church constituted there as is the case in other parts of the country.

Perhaps for reasons beyond control, that dream could not materialise until July 22, 2017. It is essential to state here that the journey into the final chapterisation of these Nasarawa State and Abuja was conceived and nurtured during the February Annual General Conference of the church held at the Galilee Land of the C&S Movement Church, at Orile-Igbon, Ogbomosho, Oyo State.

Seraphnews recalled that at the conference, representatives of the two new chapters met with some leadership of the unification with the idea to have the two areas come into the mainstream of the unification.

Having got the nod to go back home and put machineries in place for their eventual chapterisation, the leadership of Abuja and Nasarawa State chapter commenced a flurry of activities to have that idea materialised.

So, on Saturday, July 22, all roads led to the C&S Movement Church, Dakibiyyu District Headquarters, in Jabi  area, Abuja, where scores of seraphs, families, friends and well-wishers of elected officers of the converged for the inauguration/induction of the chapter and their executives.

The event commenced exactly 12:00 noon with processional hymn “E gbori Yin Soke Enu Ona.” Two Bible passages were read at the event which were taken from Psalm 133: 1-end and Philippians 2:1-5. The two passages were read by representatives of both chapters.

With Supt. Apostle Omoniyi Owomoyela, Chairman, National Executive Council and Secretary General, Apostle (Dr.) Tunde Ogunkunle anchoring the programme, the oath taking of elected members of the two chapters was taken with pledges from their leaderships that the flame of the church shall continue to burn under their watch.

Once Supt. Owomoyela pronounced the two chapters, the members, family, friends, well-wishers went into wild jubilation with singing and dancing to the admiration of personalities present at the occasion.

In his speech, the convener of the chapter, Special Apostle Anthony Bodunrin, who is chairman of the Dakibiyyu District of the C&S Movement Church, was full of praises to God for making the day a reality. He also thanked God He made him witness the even after many years of conception of the idea.

He also congratulated the two chapters’ executives, while urging them to see their elevation as  a call to serve. According to him, “Any position you find yourselves either by election, selection or appointment, it is not by your power, but God Himself placed you there for a purpose.” He enjoined the executive officers of the two chapters  to work hard and bring Seraphs that were yet to be part of the Unification to bring them on board. This, he said, would enable them to be real partakers in the attempt to win soul for the kingdom of God.

One of the highlight of the event was the investiture of Special Apostle Bodunrin as the Grand Patron of Abuja chapter to the admiration of all present.

In a show of support to seraphs, Vice President of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CA) Elder (Prof.) Joseph Otubu was present at the occasion. In his address, Elder Otubu appreciated members of C&S Movement Church, and particularly the Supreme Head of the C&S Unification Church of Nigeria, His Most Eminence Solomon Adegboyega Alao for their support during the election of CAN. He, however, implored all seraphs to see themselves as one, even if they belong to different sects of the church. He said that even if their churches was yet to be part of the Unification, all C&S can and will still work together to lift the name of the church saying, “Where love radiates, every other thing would be easy and things would fall in line.
